Engine burning oil?

How can I tell if my engine is burning oil? I seem to be filling up every 3 - 4 months at 6 - 7000km. There are no major leaks. I have a little leak through the distirb O ring.

usually you should see "blue" cloud coming out of exhaustpipe when starting the engine if engine burns oil.
