Difficult Shifting

I'm looking for some help with, not really a problem, but more of an inconvience while shifting. When I shift into first mainly, but second also, it can be very difficult to get into gear. There's no grinding, or anything, just difficult. Some times, if I try reappplying the clutch after taking it into neutral, it'll slide right into gear without a problem.
It seems to occur more when the car is cold, but I can't say for sure, I'll have to pay more attention to it after the car's warmed up. I noticed this happing over the winter, but I wasn't sure if it was due to the cold weather, but it keeps happening. I was planning on changing the transaxle oil during the winter. I got the car in TN, and live in PA, so was thinking with the temperature difference I could try changing the oil. But now that it's still happening, not really sure where to go.

Any suggestions?

Well, I'm sure someone will come along and say try using Redline gear oil in the tranny. I did that, but I still have trouble with first and second (exactly as you describe). It never gets cold here either. I think maybe my synchros are getting really worn out.

I was also gonna say synchros, because you said that if you let out the clutch then let it back in it'll slip right in (as in you're double clutching).

yep, i have the same problem. I took it to my mechanic and he said it is the synchronizer. A cool 800+ dollars canadian for him to fix it , i;'d rather have the 800 !!
