could it be the bushings ?

i bought a protege for 500 with a bad clutch, only 1st and 3rd work and sometimes 2nd and rev.
sometimes when im driveing it feels like the driveline shifts to the side a little, then 2nd will work. i looked under the car and all the bushings are shot. any ideas before i replace the clutch?
