changing auto to manual

I recently got 1994 a Mazda Protege LX, and I was wondering how much trouble I would have to go through to convert my automatic to a manual transmission. Has anyone else here done the same thing that I'm asking?

my friend and i just converted his 90 mustang gt into a standard, and its not worth the work. you basically have to change everything. you need the tranny, the clutch, run clutch pedal, run the clutch lines, ect. if you have a doner car, and all the parts its much easier. but by no means is it cheap.you better off just getting a stick shift to begin with.
