changing auto to manual

I recently got 1994 a Mazda Protege LX, and I was wondering how much trouble I would have to go through to convert my automatic to a manual transmission. Has anyone else here done the same thing that I'm asking?

i asked around when my tranny died, basically its like alot of money for little or no benefit, im not sure what parts you actually need but its more then just the tranny i heard.

my friend and i just converted his 90 mustang gt into a standard, and its not worth the work. you basically have to change everything. you need the tranny, the clutch, run clutch pedal, run the clutch lines, ect. if you have a doner car, and all the parts its much easier. but by no means is it cheap.you better off just getting a stick shift to begin with.
