Arrow Cams for BP engines (NO JOKE)

I've designed several cam profiles for the KL engines and I continue regrinding cams for the ProbeTalk/MX-6 community. My cams have shown to produce about 7whp more than ZE cams. Everybody that has them is very satsified.

If you guys/girls need cams for your BP(DOHC or SOHC) engines I'm your guy.

I need your help prior I embark onto this adventure with you guys. Do the BP engines use HLA (hydraulic lifters). Does anybody know the specs of the stock cams? What's the lift, the valve timing events on both DOHC and SOHC engines.

Who ever has a spare cam or cams from their SOHC or DOHC I will need to borow it. If I can regrind your stock cams to a more interesting cam profile I'll do it for a great price. Email me at mikeseli@info-internet.net.

Yes, the BPs use HLAs. For stock lift and duration, check out this site (the second table down) http://members.aol.com/solomiata/cams.html

HTH

On the topic of cam grinding, how much would you charge to grind a pair of cams (namely Miata 1.6L cams...very similar to 1.8L cams)?

I've done a set of Miata cams for the 1.6L. The guy was very happy. I beleived he gained 13whp, he also had adjustable cam sprockets. His idle was unaffected.

I charge $200/set.

Can you tell me what's the diameter of the HLA on the B6 and BP engines are, I don't have my notes with me. Is it 30mm for both engines?

If someone wants to be the first volunteer to try out a cam grind I'm willing to do it for $150US, provided I get before and after dyno results quickly.

If you want to check my reputation you can go to Probetalk.com and perform a search under cams. My login is mikeseli at Probetalk.

I'm not looking for anything that aggressive. Basically just a grind to stock specs (dead on specs if possible). I've got a pair of old cams that basically just need to be "spruced up". I'll keep ya in mind if I don't find anyone locally.

It's not that aggressive, he was able to idle at stock level 750rpms. He lost some low end power below 2000rpms but after 4000rpms it was a different car.

It's more aggressive than I'm allowed to have . Basically, I need a cam grind for a Spec Miata engine....ground right to Mazda (stock) specifications.

I can regrind it to your stock cam profile provided one cam lobe from your existing camshafts is in great shape. The price is going to be about $200US for both camshafts.

Why are you concerned about regrinded cams? You have nothing to worry about. I choose a cam profile that won't remove much material from the stock cam lobes.

What ever you heard about regrinds is mostly myths. If you don't remove much material you have nothing to worry about.
