Air intake Installation

Hi my friend has a protege lx 94 1.8l and she just bought a intake off ebay and we cant put it on. We have heard that she needs to get an adaptor or something..is this true????

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...41&category=-1

the above link is the intake she bought. Yeah she is getting on my last nerve with this intake. The air sensor seems to be the problem so i guess you cant unhook it or something? When we did hook the intake up, the car would run but once you press on the gas it would stall....so yeah...i dont know that much about mazdas, mostly i know is saturns and ummmm yeah. So yeah and she knows nothing much about her car which sucks but oh well. can/ will anyone give me some advice?

thanks
