The Ractive is not a CAI though. You guys have to take into consideration that this could be very time consuming. As Darryl said, you also need the skills to put it together correctly. I will be very happy to see someone make and sell them for $ 50, but I seriously doubt that anyone would go through all that trouble for so little $. If you guys don't want to buy it, make your own and make sure you let us know how much it's worth to you once it's all done.

How much of a difference does the cold air make vs just a tube? Sure as hell isn't worth $145 to me for a tube and filter. I bet I could throw something together for $50 and see an improvement over stock...

Any intake tube i have seen for the first gen has not been the correct size pipe and the fit has been mediocure at best. 99% of ppl (that i have seen) have used a civic or other car brand intake, of which 99% are 3" diameter, our cars have been proven to perform better with a 2.5" pipe, so i make it to perform.
If you feel it's too much, don't buy it. I am not mass producing these things, i offered to make a professional style intake and i feel for the time, effort and product cost, it's a fair price. plain and simple.
Go get your tubes and supplies from home depot or where ever and build it, i'm not here to argue or push my "super duper intake" it was merely an offering, take it or leave it.

I apologize for that post Darryl, I didn't word it right. I should have put more emphasis on the fact that it just wasn't worth it to ME because I still see my 323 as a little POS, that's all
I'm not saying your product isn't worth it to someone with a nice car that would like a quality product. If that was the case, I'm sure buying yours would be the smart move.

Darryl - you've got a PM dude!
I, for one, am glad that somebody like Darryl is willing to make a custom intake since nobody has a plug-n-play piece for our Pro's. Many good CAI's I've seen for other cars are more than what he is asking too. You get what you pay for - stick a $13 cone on your car, or spend your money wisely and buy quality .... JMO.

With the CAI, how great are the risks of getting moisture in your engine, then that can lead to seizing it up, correct?
Living in PA, rain, snow, etc. is something hard to avoid.
So I'm just thinking about playing it safe. Would just adding a cone filter without the CAI be any kind of risk, etc?
