Which tires are better?

I'd stay with the 215/40, as it's closer to stock diameter, and your speedo will still be accurate. But I'd go with the ContiExtremeContact ($89 at Tire Rack) if you want all-season, or the Yoko ES100, Kumho 712, Dunlop FM901 (all around $85-100) if a summer tire would do.

Ya ... what davard said.
You don't want a 35-series tire if you can help it. The only people who run 35's are also on 18" rims and that's the only size available that fits.
Does it even come in a 35-profile 17" size?
Even if it did, I suppose they would have to be something like 245mm wide to get the correct diameter. hehehe

I have 205/40/zr17 Falken FK451 on my Konigs. They have a really low profile look and the tread wear is good as long as you rotate them every once in a while. They also have an aggressive tread pattern
