Hey DaleK,

There's a funny story about that. I ended up getting it for $134.82 (taxes included), I called around and got mixed up with prices so went in to the Hitch Shop saying the manager quoted me certain price when in fact it was $10 more.

You're looking at about $146

P.S. are you coming to the meet on April 6th? You can see it in person.

Thanks Jay.

Not sure if I'm coming on the 6th or not, but I have talked about it with my wife, and I am thinking that it's a good possibility that one of us may show up

Dale.

I had to drop the muffler a bit which meant pulling off the rear-most rubber hanger for the install.
Jayrox, did you use anything to pull it off with? Maybe squirt a bit of oil on it, to loosen it? Mine seems pretty tight. It's been there for about 56xxx.

thanks

Actually water did the trick. I didn't use oil because I was concerned it might pop off on it's own once I had it back together. I ended up prying it with a screwdriver as well. *Don't score the rubber*

So I was able to get the rubber muffler gromet thingy off without any lube.

HOWEVER, when I got my Drawtite hitch under the muffler and into position, the hitch itself was toooo wide to fit between the metal muffler support that hangs off the frame and the the metal mount loop hanging off the other side?????

The directions clearly show that the hitch should mount between the 2 pieces of metal, but I went ahead and tried to mount on the outside of the loop, and on the inside of the "muffler side metaal support, now the holes dont line up, not even close. Of course they I wouldnt think they should, since this isnt the correct way to install the hitch.

Anybody have similar issues? Pretty sure I got the right hitch for my 02' Protege.....
