Yesterday Attempt at install

Well today *language* sucked I went to the dealership and finally got the exhaust manifold gasket. Then went to my cousin's house to install the wagner shorty header. The whole install went from good to bad. First we got all the nuts, bolts and everything off but the damn exhaust manifold would not budge. I was pissed as helll then we had to lift the car to get under it to remove 2 brackets that prevented us from removing the exhaust manifold. After we removed it and started to install the wagner shorty header, here is where it started to go bad we lost 3 bolts and *language* 2 of them up on the pre-cat. We then had to go to autozone and get replacements. When we came back and started to install the new header everything looked fine but when I turned on the car I heard the nastiest exhaust leak ever so we went back and tightened everything but this damn screw that bolts on the head almost cracked while it was inside and it bent all out of shape so yeah you guessed it we had to go back to autozone. To make matters worse all hell broke loose and it started to pour outside really bad and we continued too while it was pouring now that's hardcore but could'nt finish up the install because it became extremely dark to install the header. So I had to drive home with the crappiest exhaust leak ever. I just had to vent, tomorrow we are going finish up the install.

Btw.. When we got the exhaust manifold off I saw my valves and they were white is this normal??? My friend also said that I should port out the exhaust side and remove the little divider to get more air to be able to pass through has anyone done this and knows what I'am talking

Finally Installed !!!!

Yeeeahhhhhh!! ahhh (Lil John's voice) it was a *language* pain in the *** but I finally installed the wagner shorty header. Earlier we totally *language* the thread in the head and we had to go to autozone to get a tap and re-thread that bitch because only one bolt keep going in crocked so after we re-threaded it was a success!! we got the header all bolted-on. I still have to get a screw to screw into the head but no exhaust leaks anywhere so I'am happy .

We then decided to test this bad boy, all I can say is mother *language* wow!! best $285 dollars I have ever spent the header pulls sick as hell right in the 3-5 rpm it just pulls and keeps on pulling and it totally helped because I usually lost and bogged down in that range. Stay tuned for pics and a full review on it.

editgotta keep it clean Subghetto, thanks Matty

hey Sub.. glad you got it installed and are happy.. i'm loving the header.

I didn't get a chance to fix my broken bolt yet though 9 others are in there snug and I can't hear any exhaust leak, but it still bothers me and I want to get it taken care of ASAP but i'm working nightwork and don't have the time just yet (I have a work car to drive in the meanwhile)..

Sorry Matty, I forgot cursing is not allowed It totally slipped my mind and I got over excited it won't happen again. Fkmp5 I heard about your track time not bad, I hope to break in the 15's when I finish up my exhaust set-up. All I need is the wagner n/a downpipe and mid-pipe.

That's good SubGhetto...sounds like a hell of an install.

I"m definitely going to upgrade the fasteners when I do this install; all of these cap screws and studs shearing off is making me a bit paranoid. Time for some Grade 8

yeah, I completly destroyed my pre-cat when I pulled mine out. I got stuck with a 4-1 header and while It feels faster my times at the track don't show it.

I will probably have Andy just fab me an entire 4-2-1 after I'm done with the supercharger kit.

Got mine in got the DP and headers in yesterday But will say my car is very loud now. Going to have to get a silencer for the exhaust. But other than that they look great and feel great.
