sparkplugs have an anode and electrode and another part but forgot name. , the electrode is where the spark starts looks like a small l , the anode is the little piece of metal shaped like an L the gap between the anode and electrode can be changed. to go with a car's timing etc a certain gap works better than another. you use a feeler guage to get this gap correct. If that made any sense

well i know that but ive never herd of the term gap used with spark pluggs.
