i am currently working on getting some people from mazdamp3.com to come to the detroit area and i volunteered myself to organize everything. im planning on an auto x, dyno testing, possibly a renting of a runway, a banquet of some sort, and ive got a few other ideas rolling around. just let me know if you would go and when you think it should be.... hopefully i can get at least 20 or so. but even if there are only 5 ill still plan stuff.

 

Let us know when you get a date. I will bring the Mazda Motorsports MP3 SCCA ProRally car to the event if it works out with our racing schedule.

well lurch i got some final dates... June 21-23... a lot of people are excited that you may be bringing the rally car up.. my friend saw you guys at the last rally... we are gonna have an auto x, were renting out a drag strip, a cruise, possibly a car show, and a dinner or banquet of some sort.... were going to be having all types of mazda's coming... rx7's, mx6's, mx3's, pro5's, mp3's, proteges... we also may be having a cuple mags do some articles on the meet too.... so im really excited about this....

 

ive tried to reply to one of my posts that he replied to reagarding the North American meet in Michigan.. and he hasnt replied... he has the rally mp3 and he said if his racing schedual was open he would come to the meet...
does anyone know his email or if he goes to these forums anymore....

I just got new summer tires today at the Ann Arbor Discount Tire. One of the mechanics came up to me and told me about a Mazda meet at Milan Dragway!! So far, an estimated 150 are going!!! The drag strip is rented out, and there will be autoXing. It's sometime in June, he's gonna email me when more details come about. If you live within 300 miles, this might be worth checking out!! I'll keep ya posted as I hear things. BTW, he has a yellow MP3

I live in Novi, work in Rochester Hills.
I've got a 2001 ES, silver, 5-speed.

All I've done so far is drop in a K&N and I modified the air intake armed with a dremel and ducktape.

Though I have ordered a set of silver ROTA Subzero's 17x7's with Kumho 215.40.17's form Automotive R&D. You may have read stuff about those on the forum.

I think I'm gonna get the windows tinted today. I'm also looking into springs, you got any oppinions on lowering springs concidering how bad MI roads are?

any way if there isn't a D-Town Protege club we should start one.

i wouldnt lower more than an inch, depending on where you drive. in some parts of michigan, i find that even the factory suspension is a little low. well, i wouldnt lower more than an inch even if your staying on pavement.

I've been pretty busy and haven't checked out the forum in a long time. Hence the late, late, late response.

I will put the meet on my calendar. We will be in PA racing on June 1st and 2nd, then going to Hot Import Nights with the Mazda display on the 8th and then nothing til Maine in July...sooo...I will definitely try to make it. Let me know where. I am in Dearborn.
