your enthusiasim is refreshing, but here's the thing....there have been about 4 or 5 of us that have had our hand in trying to get some sort of regular meetings or just a sinlge meet (we where successful once!! and it was pretty cool) but whenever somebody steps up and gives it a shot, it fizzles out....both in interest of the members and the person organizing it. If we had a small team of ppl that could share duties and organize regular meets (norcal, central and socal areas) and be dedicated enough to stick with it, they/we could really do something with it and get things moving.

The Ventura meet was well organized, had prizes, food, banners, CARS!!, Mazda goodies etc etc. it was well thought out and excecuted. Pretty sure the website is still active, no idea what the link is though, you'll have to do a search.

As for myself, Davard, BTiara, Cruzer and occassionally PhotoPro5, we are regulary at either the Los Angeles and/or San Diego autox race events, only certain death can keep us away OR a bigger better race is going on the same weekend... We encourage you all to not just come out to watch, but get involved. I'm sure if you just ask, you'll find a generous soul that will let you drive their car for the day, if you really didn't want to run your new car....it might cost you lunch and/or 2 entry fees, but you'll get to race. We did have a mini meet last Dec at Hollywood Park, here's a photo of the group.

Left to Right: Will (Mr. EGT) David's Fiancee and co-driver Julie (Davard) Sorry, still can't remember her name (LadiPrizm) Kurt (PhotoPro5) Sean (ProtegeLava5) Richie (Cruzer) Dave (cablemirc) and me Darryl (mazdaspeedwest)

Davard was not able to be in the pic, as he had event duties to attend to and Braden (turboge) left early...

to be honest i had been considering trying to gather a local club here in orange county and i have been looking for a protege club around here for a while so when i saw this thread i was hoping that maybe i had finally found a club...why dont those of us who are committed start meeting regularly, maybe get some stickers for our cars and in our home areas we can put posters up and schools and whatnot (there are at least 15 MP5s at the CC i went to this last year if not more) eventually we could have a much larger club but everything has to start small or it will never work (if youve ever played any online games clans/guilds that start and grow to extreme sizes quickly always collapse). anywho if you guys are getting together again or going to any races sometimes soon just email me the date and place and ill try to meet up with some of you (email is NeoLA2099@aol.com)

peace,

matt

I know at Cerritos CC, Cal State Fullerton, and Fullerton CC have got a lot of P5's. I think the poster idea might work over there. My e-mail is Icky111@hotmail.com. I'll try to help out as much as I can although I am pretty busy this summer. Hopefully we can get this thing started. Thanks!

yup we had a little mini meet at the Qualcomm stadium.
Here is the thread with more details and pictures:click me

Some poeple where autox'ers and others where people from
forums. It was on ok turn out... wish there more protege's that
showed. I thought for sure Darryl was gonna show but I guess
he had other things to do.

I would love to setup a monthly meet of some sort. To me it
would make sense to setup the meets at the AutoX's probably
at lunch time. They mostly have dates and locations set in
advance. So people can see if they can or can not make them.
Then people can watch and see how our cars do. Then maybe
get inspired and actually participate in running. I don't know
these are just thoughts.

Richie
