Southeastern Protege/Mazda meet!!
 

Ok guys, It's time for us southerners to get together and talk shop. I'm going to start planning a large gathering and will need your input if it is going to be successfull. There are three big things to plan first when handling something like this.

1. Location - We need a central location to everyone in this region.

2. Date - When is a good time to get together? - Weather is always nice here, but we all work on different schedules.

3. Type of Event - I personally enjoy race weekends, but I understand that's not for everyone. I think a large bar-b-que would be nice if we can rent a track facility. I have 3 seperate tracks near me that will do such events.

Outside of these things are the small details such as lodging, things to do in the area, cruise-ins, so forth. I'd like to see which members are interested in doing this, their location, and what they'd like to see happen at the event. We'll start there. Please be advised. I'm only wanting to keep pertinant posts in this thread. Let's keep the chit-chat out of it and stay on topic! This will help get everything organized quicker!!

come to the protege meet being held on november 8th in ocala, florida. it should be pretty big

Ocala, where can I get more info? Location, time, type of event. I'm not driving 500 miles to sit in a hooters parking lot like some other Protege "meets". The meet I'm trying to plan will most likely be a weekend event. I'd like to have cook-outs, drag racing, auto-xing, cruising and maybe a group event....even if it's just a movie or something. Gimme the details, I'm itching to take my new P5 for a long ride. I was thinking about going to the beach next weekend.

shit i just looked in protegegarage.com and its only gonna cost me like 600 somthin to do most of the interior of my car in carbonfiber after i do the inside that way im gonna look into the carbon hood but that will set me back a 1000.....

hey this is pete and i think that its agreat idea to do like a race weekend or an all day long type deal I live in central fl by Tampa

I think right now we (S.E. protege group) are looking to have everyone meet up at NOPI in atlanta. I think this would be a good indicator of how many people are willing to make a drive for a big meet. Plan on being there first Pete. We'll work the rest out later.

Im registered for NOPI :) I'll be riding up with a bunch of guys from Miami we do it every year :). We're parking in Yellow K this year on the pavement. We made the mistake of parking in the dirt last year with all the people and the cars going by our cars were covered and it took away th bling bling.
Thanks for the compliments on my Mazda. :) I like her. As of now Im running around with a green hood and bumer but as of July 26th -28th I will have her back in full graphics. I cant wait. Im nervous I hope the artist can do it. He seems optimisitic. I want him to take his time so if he needs the car for a week hell he can have it.

Anyway. The guys at mazdamp3.com are thinking about having a meet on August 14th and showing our cars at a charity show $20 to show it all goes to charity.

I used to have one. You can still see it in my tint.

I don't think anyone will be mad unless your car is horribly ricey and you give us a bad image!! Just remember, sometimes LESS is MORE!!

lol well they only thing i have that looks ricey is my tach but i went with the smaller one so that it wont look like somthin a honda would have ya know but thats is the only other thing i have to do is buy some speaker wire so i can hide all my wires cause there all over the place in my trunk and it looks real stupid

yeah, thats how you spell it . You get props if you have a vinyl decal that says "Turbo Matty P ownz jo0!!" on the rear windshield. I'll powdercoat your valve cover for free if you pimp NOPI with that on your car!!

yeah, you tell them jo. nopi would be the best place to have a southeast mazda meet. i see a lot of people interested in going but very few have actually registered for the show. regardless of how your car looks, it is much better to have your car on the inside then outside. you won't have to walk through the grandstands and parking to get to the car plus you can bring a chair and a cooler and sit and relax by your car at the show. you get tired of walking around (the show is huge) just walk to the car and hang out.

so go ahead and register everybody.

I think we should all try to get in the same section. This would display more of a following but I'm not banking on winning anything.

My local Birmingham board said they plan on having 1500 sRT4's going to atl.....did they even make that many?!?!

i doubt they will have 1500 srt4's. i don't think there is that many in birmingham or even alabama. maybe from all over but i still doubt.

we did have, oh i dont know, do you remember jo, 100-150 srt4s down here for the florida statewide meet back in february.
