NOPI Car Show/Street Class Drag Race - Steele, AL 5-14/15
#93
Just recieved this via email:
Due to inclement weather, the celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Annual Lights Over Asia, Friday, 20 May, 1800-2100+, has been MOVED to the O’CLUB, Maxwell AFB. There will be sample foods from Asia and the Pacific Islands, taekwondo demonstrations, cultural dancing, a car exhibit and it’s FREE for the entire family. Contact SSgt H. Lei Kaauamo via email or at ext 3-9214
FYI:
(The O'Club = Officer's Club)
I was also told that next year, (if I'm STILL stationed here ) this exhibit will be my "baby". Expect a true car show feel...and I'll know not to plan the damn thing around the HIN time frame.

Officers Club is still on base though right? I need to verify that you have badges ready for my wife and I .
Matt mullis
Kendra Perry-mullis
Also, for those who were wanting to caravan down with me....we're going to need leave ASAP. Like 5:30pm at the latest. If you can't be at my house by 5:30 we'll just meet up there.

It's not a badge, it'll just be a base pass with your name on it, that you'll keep in your car. That gives you the freedom to drive/explore the base, except for the flight line (where the aircraft are kept and/or any other sensitive area). So, basically, you will have free roaming of the place.
Here's all that you'll need:
Just your Driver's license, ins. and registration. (They usually don't check anything other than the license).

Directions:
Follow these to BELL STREET GATE (Visitor's Center). You will come to the gate where the gate guard will ask for your ID, give it up, then pull over where they instruct you to. Walk back over and get your pass (should take no more than 20 seconds). Only the DRIVER needs to walk over, itchy-trigger-fingered guards don't like a mass of ppl at the gates at one time.
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=bi...AL+36112&hl=en
Once you get your pass, you will go through a stop light, get in the RIGHT lane.
Stay in the RIGHT lane until it breaks to the right. Go straight, and follow the signs (the are BROWN w.WHITE letters), they say OFFICER'S CLUB, you will see static displays of various aircraft on your left & big officer houses on your right. Keep to the right and you will see a chapel on your left, and more houses on the right. You will then pass a tall 10 floor building, the O'Club, is just ahead on the LEFT. You can't miss it, as you will come to a round-a-bout. At that point, you'll probably see me & I'll tell you where you need to park your cars.
Easy as pie.
Thanks guys!

Naw man, it's not that I dont like them. They're just a little lower than I wanted to go. Thanks to my very very small amount of patience though, I'm gonna put mine in tommorow as well if we have time. If they're too low and I start scraping a lot, I can sell em and buy somethin else.

Yeah man, I'm very happy with the drop. Although I will say that I'm not gonna listen to your *** if we're ever installing struts again. That bolt that I said needed to be tightened more on the right rear assembly DID need to be tightened more, and I gotta rent a lift up here and re-do that one

well, the $200-350 you saved on this install will go a long way into covering the little you'll have to spend.
p.s. I saw Miller tonight at Vestavia Bowl. I was stuffing my gut with some sushi at Ichibans. The car looks BADASS sitting under the streetlight.

Dude, you shoulda called me, I was just sitting inside getting beat down in bowling. And it's only gonna cost me $10 to rent the lift up here for as long as I need it, and since I know how to do it now it wont be a any big deal. Just gotta drop the strut out, compress the assembly, take off the bolt, re-seat the top plate thing (just to be sure), and reinstall everything. I figure about 2 hours tops. And I'll try and fix my exhaust while I'm under there.
BTW:
Thank you

OH ****! Guess what Matt! You remember when we were sitting at Phils talking about the Homewood Autozone being open all the time? As of wednesday of last week they are open 7AM-12AM every day. Me and Adam (big truck) went to buy some solder to fix his stereo at about 1:30 am today and we literally sat in the parking lot for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what the hell happened. Ever since I moved here that place has been open 24/7, and it's STILL messing with my mind that it's closed.
