Alabama SCCA Autocross Sunday 9/9
 

Alright, I'm DEFINITELY making this one (barring tragedy or catastrophic failure...). This time, the event's not the day after we have a night event that runs until 1:00 AM lol.

This time, you've got 3 weeks notice. Matt, that's plenty of time for you to schedule a day off of work ;). Since there are exactly zero solos in Atlanta for the month of September, I foresee a fairly large Georgia contingent at this event. I'd really enjoy seeong the familiar faces again, and of course seeing some new ones.

I'll be there when the gates open, just look for a guy with a backpack ( my laptop/digi cam/vid cam ) In a black P5.

oh, and I tried to drive a miata/mx-5, and it just wasn't going to happen. I would have had to steer using my pelvis. Plus my legs were still flexed past the pedals and couldn't see much because my view was obscured by the top of the windshield.

LOL I could see that as being a problem :D

If you want to take pictures on course, make sure you talk to the event chair / steward / whatever about getting a spotter. There aren't any problems if you're just on the sidelines

Bob, if you want some video footage, I've got a roll bar camera mount. I'll just need you to hit record / stop @ the beginning / end of my runs.

sorry, they put 4 jobs on me today even though I asked for it off. I worked from 7:45am to 8:30pm.

I WILL be at Petit LeMans though for sure. I saw the schedule marked open already.

can't do....too close to petit. I'm also planning a new trip...might be gone for 2 weeks....HOPEFULLY. Working 65hr weeks I'm saving up some $$ and vacation hours.

one small problem... I reviewed the footage, and um... all you recorded was the staging...

You mean pulling up to the start lights?? How's that work? I wonder if the hard drive wasn't happy with the vibrations from being solidly mounted to what amounts to structural part of the chassis lol

EDIT: I'm on the lookout for a decent dv cam right now in the $100 range (used of course). Gotta love craigslist.
