Question fog problems..need some advice

okay...2002 p5..did fog light mod per instructions i found on the forum. everything went fine.they come on with the parking lights. heres the problem...once i flip the headlights on...the fogs shut off....they're only working with the parking lights. really have no idea if it was supposed to work like that, from my understanding it worked both ways...but any insight on what could be the problem would be much appreciated.

i spliced the red wire from the harness on the fog light switch to the green/black wire like it instructed....they work with the parking lights...but once the headlights come on the fogs shut off. i followed the instructions to the last direction..thats why im stumped

Fog light relay location:

Look at the extreme upper left corner above the left foot rest. You'll see a cluster of THREE off-white plastic boxes (relays) with wires sticking out (Goldilock's bears). The smallest one is the fog-light relay. Put your finger on it as you turn on the fog light on and off. You'll feel it "click".

What you're essentially doing with TheMan's instructions (the big picture):

You're basically tapping the red wire FROM the fog light relay (not the other end of the red wire that you cut) to the light-green/black stripe wire going through the big black harness right under the steering column where all the wires seem to emanate from.

Good luck.

BTW, even if you correct the mod, it seems your fog lights are exhibiting ideal behavior, since fog lights shouldn't be used with the headlights on anyway.

Can you tell me what YOU did, so I can mod mine YOUR way?
