Anyone else a Honda convert?

Anyone else a Honda convert?
... Well, I wouldn't really say that I'm a total convert. I'll always love those cars. But, yeah.. I've been through several Hondas.. (a 94 Accord EX, a 99 Integra GS-R, and a 00 Civic Si) and recently purchased my P5. I'm very impressed with it so far.. no regrets at all. Anyone else coming over from the Honda side for the first time with their P5?

I have a '88 civic w/ ZC engine. Then I bought a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R as suplemental transportation and weekend track warrior. I traded that in on the Protege5 after a very close call. I hate all other drivers on the road now and I will never ride a motorcycle on the street (in the city) again. Now I have the Protege5 and am loving it....

i was once a 99 Civic SiR (CND) owner. 5 Breakings and an accident later.... I'm now aP5 owner. As some of you did, I was looking for a tame car that wasn't popular with the local car part harvesters *LOL cry*. That car hauled!!
The P5 isn't that bad of a car. It just needs about 50hp more and a clutch that won't slip.

I'm a true Honda man...owned nothing but Hondas since my first new car... a 1st gen '75 Civic ... followed by a a '79 Accord, '84 Prelude, 87 Integra, and a '97 Acura 1.6 EL (to the Americans: that's a Canada-only model that is really a Civic sedan loaded up, and with Acura badging). The 1.6 EL is my current car, but we got a P5 for my wife a month ago. I was a mildly apprehensive about going into 'foreign' territory with Mazda, but the current Hondas did not appeal.... anyways my reservations were unfounded... the P5 is great and I drive it every chance I get....
Mazda weaknesses compared to Honda products?.... Hondas have better sound systems, and get better gas mileage. But these are minor things...

i had a 2001 honda civic ex with 17's, ground control, aem short ram, neuspeed strut bar, but it was an automatic...once i got my classic red p5 5 speed, i have fun driving everytime i go in my p5...totally better than my civic...also it is not that much of a thief magnet, i had my subs taken from my civic, and almost had my titanium chrome rims stolen in front of house if it werent for my trusty dog...now with my p5, i cant wait to add mods, i already have 18 inch 5 zigen M-05 hyperblack with pirelli p7000 and momo interior accessories, next will be my stereo setup....thanks

Still a die hard Honda freak here! The P5 is the daily beater to my other car, a 2000 Honda S2000. I'd have had another Honda if they had made a sport wagon like the P5 (I saw the Civic 4 door HB in Japan last year, but they aren't bringing it here )
Previous Hondas:
just sold a '94 Accord EX with 203,000 miles, still running like new
'99 Prelude
'92 Accord EX
'92 Integra GS
'91 Prelude Si
'88 Integra LS
'76 Civic
There have been a few other non-Hondas, but Hondas are my poison of choice. This is my first Mazda, and while I am pretty happy with it, a few things annoy the hell out of me which appear to be engineering oversights or a lack of attention to detail: loud buffeting of the roof rack, and noisy, inadequate air conditioning. I guess if I was deaf, this car would be flawless
Just the same, I like the P5 and I think I'll keep it

In order by date of ownership
86 Civic Hatchback (1.3L 4spd)
87 Accord LXi (2.0L 5spd)
95 Civic DX Coupe (1.5L 5spd)
89 Civic Hatchback (1.5L 4spd)
88 CRX Si (1.6L 5spd)
'02 Protege5 (2.0L 5spd)
Still own CRX and it spanks my P5 in acceleration, but the P5 handles like a Miata (meaning that there is oversteer vs. my Crx has understeer).
I autocrossed the 95 cpe, 89 hatch, 88 CRX and now the P5.

well, i'm not really a honda converted over, but we have 4 cars from 4 different companys.
1. 1991 toyota corolla (first car, hand me down from mom)
2. 1993 mercury villager (traded in for another car)
3. 1998 olds inturge (sp?) (dad's car)
4. 2000 acura 1.6 EL (mom's car, traded in villager for this)
5. 2002 mazda Protege5 (my car hehe)
So, we've been around with most of the company's.
I'll never buy chrysler, i think they just suck in quailty...
but that's just me...

honda convert
Yep, that would be me, i had a healthly modded 2000 EPB Civic SI & loved it, the only problem was it was leased! i know, i know, bumbass, anyway 1 1/2 years into a 3 year 36k lease i had 32,000 miles on it!! so i had to trade out of it.
well i bought a Eclipse GST Spyder, lot's of fun, fast car, but build quality & realibility was so crap it was painful.
so i wanted something different, relaible, fun to drive, & somehting that wasn't a dime a dozen! enter the MP5!!! & yep i am totally impressed with this car, i'd say the build quality is on a par with honda, sure it need a little kick up the ****, but again thats not why i bought it, i knew it was a little underpowered.
all in all, i love the MP5, & for some reason Honda & toyota have totally overpriced themselves out of the compact/import market right now. i was at my local Honda dealer this past weekend, a friend was looking at the 2002 SI they wanted 19,600 for it!!! it's a freaking 2 door honda!!! it's not a Type-R it's not a luxuary car!! then i looked a regular civic's it's unbelievble how much they are asking for them!!!!! IMHO the Mazda protege is one of the best value for money compact imports on the market.
