Mazda 3 weird electrical issue
Hello everybody, my name is Harry and I'm in desperate need of some help please[img alt="

Here is my story:
I own a Mazda 3, 2014, 2.2 diesel. I love it and as its only my second car I would like to do some upgrades on it. I started with the stereo/screen inside the vehicle, as when I bought the car of a family member the screen was already playing up. I bought a cheep replacement aftermarket screen on eBay (very bad idea) as I'm training to be a mechanic (still an apprentice) I fitted this in my lunch break at work. As soon as u plugged in the new head unit the interior of the car went dark and nothing worked.
So I checked the fuses, 4 fuses had blown, including the 'room' fuse located in the engine bay fuse box. and the fuse that controls the stereo itself. after making sure everything worked again foolishly I decided to try to fit the screen again as I didn't want a faulty screen (I put the original one back in to test everything was working as it should.
This time I plugged it in and everything seamed to work as it should, until I turned the engine on. the display including speedometer, fuel gauge and heads up display doesn't light up. The engine is running but nothing lights up and the immobilizer light flashes as if the car is off. however the screen and everything else works apart from the speedo.
This is what I've tried so far:
Checking fuses, three or four times I've checked each fuse with a test light, even taking each one individually out and checking with a metre to see if they are good. Nothing, all the fuses were fine.
Next I took the aftermarket stereo back out and checked the connections were good and there were no signs of burnt wires or anything like that. I put the stock stereo back in to see if that did anything, nothing. however as I said the original screen still works just dimmer that before. I have left that original screen in now.
Next I took out both body control modules (the one in the boot and the one in the engine bay) to check for burn marks or anything like that, nothing. However this doesn't rule out the possibility that it could have popped a control unit just wanted to visually check.
I also plugged in some BOSCH diagnostic equipment and got this fault code: UO155-00 Lost communication with instrument panel cluster (IPC) control module - current DTC. This makes me think its the IPC control module which is expensive to replace and requires coding most likely so its not something I could do myself.
I've even tried performing a basic reset on the car by bridging the negative and positive terminals, again nothing.
Has anyone come across this problem before? I would greatly appreciate some help as I have not owned this car for very long and am eager to get it back to its former glory. I realize that's a lot to read I just wanted to give as much context and info as possible.
Thank you for reading.
