I just picked up a 2007 Mazda 3 S Hatchback 5-speed with 140k miles. Third gear is bad and pops out 50% of the time (long story), so I'll probably end up replacing the transmission with a used one.

There are a number of transmissions out there from various vendors. Some with DSC and some without. I'm pretty sure my car does NOT have Dynamic Stability Control.

This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know if a DSC transmission will work on my car? Obviously I don't care about the DSC part since I can't magically make it control the brakes and engine output.

Thanks for any clues. I searched around a little and didn't find any obvious answers.
