Interestingly enough, when the oil pressure switch fails oil will leak out of your engine. The oil light does not light up because - wait for it - the oil pressure switch has failed!

Has anyone encountered this issue, or know of any undisclosed Mazda warranty programs dealing with it?

I am referring specifically to the 2004 Mazda 3 Sport GS with the 2.4L engine. May, or may not, apply to other model years/engines.
