Hey all, new member here, and also, a newer owner of a Mazda3 (of course, right? ). Love the car, but have ran into an issue w/the EVAP emissions stuff and had a few questions.

Car is an '06 s hatch 2.3. I started up my car to leave for the day this morning, and noticed the CEL light stayed on (thinkin, "crap!"). Got it scanned at an Autozone on the way to work. Forgot to ask for the code number, but what came up was "EVAP system leak (small)", which I wanna say is maybe a P0442? And it's my understanding that a loose gas cap usually triggers a different code?

I'm just trying to get an idea from someone else who's had this issue on how much it'd cost to repair? I'm normally a DIY type w/cars, but I heard that smaller EVAP leaks are typically a PITA to find w/out special equipment, and I'd rather not blow money throwing random parts at it.
