Body Trim Question

Hey guys, first time poster and a new Mazda 3 driver.

The bump guard is coming up on one of the doors. I've got some 3M Super Strength Molding tape. Can I just put the tape on under the spot that's coming up, or should I attempt to pull the whole piece up and retape it? I'm worried about breaking the piece or putting it on crooked.

I'm not familiar with that kind of tape, but if it were me, I would try just securing the loose part.

But then again, I'm lazy.

That is just normal double sided foam tape under there. The piece is plastic and pretty flexible (at least when it's warm out).
I'd say wait for a warm day and pull the moulding right off - just peel it slowly & clean it up afterwards with isopropyl alcohol - then re-was the area... that's what I did just after I got my car.

As a side note, i've got a set of black trim if anyone wants to replace what's on their doors.
