Hi, I am new to the forum. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!


I have a 2007 Mazda 3 2.3L 5 dr. It has recently started to idle roughly and occasionally comes close to stalling while in park. I scanned for codes and came up with P0126 (Thermostat?) and P2402 (EVAP Leak detection Pump?) Both are problems I need to address but could they be the cause of the rough idle or is it something else?

 

thermostat would cause issues with idle, making the engine think its cold all the time, so it'll ritchen the fuel mix... or vice versa - depends if it thinks its always hot or always cold, either way that's probably it.

 

alot of mazda owners seem to post about fouled MAF or O2 sensors. could be worth a shot. though youd probably get a code for that. spark plugs maybe?

 

I too have a rough and somewhat vibrateing like idle. I checked for a code today and only got "P0126" taking it to a local non chain garage tomorrow. My gas milage seems to suck lately too. I can watch the needle drop as i drive. WTF
