Can I fit a 225 / 50 / 16 to my stock rim size (which comes with 205/55/16) ?

Hi, the dealer said to replace my o9 hi performance tires with Kumho 205/5017 to eliminate road noise. Any comments or suggestions welcomed?

A prevous car I put 225's on when the stock tire was a 205. It worked fine but the tread always wore unevenly cause the tire was too much wider than the rim. Do check clearance around the tire before you make the change.
