Your stock specs are off: 16x6+50, 5x114.3.

The only tire size you can run with those rims is 215/35-18, and you'll rub because the offset is at least 5mm too low.

I (just barely)get away with a +48 and 215/40's, but yeah, that offset won't work. Also, don't forget that the stock P5 wheels are made by Enkei and weigh about 16 lbs apiece...pretty light.

Kinda neat looking wheels, though.

those are the konigs where you can replace the inserts on them to chance the look, right? I think they make a fake cf one and such

P5 enkei wheels: 16", 15 - 16 lbs
Mazdaspeed Racing Harts: 17", like 22-24 lbs. WTF!? lol

EDIT for on topicocity:
Yeah those won't fit. And... they're enormous 0.o

Mazdaspeed wheels that have the name "Racing Hart" plastered on them but obviously weren't made by Racing Hart.. and if they were, they deserve a big slap in the face because they're the heaviest 17x7 wheels I've ever come across :P

Real Racing Harts truly rock. I dig the CP-035. 16x7 10.8lbs $390ea. Yummilicious.

Yeah they are, you can replace them with the cf inserts.

So it would def rub huh. Aight guys thanks. I did contact konig about these rims fiitng on my 2001 ES, they responded that it would be fine but I would have to get the 17" not 18". I really wanted to see a big change in my wheel size due to me already having the stock 16", well I guess I'll have to come to a compromise cause I really like the rims and would they accent my car off nicely.

17s can look much larger than stock wheels, trust me

you just gotta pick the right wheel. Since those konigs have spokes that come pretty close to the edge of the wheel, they'll probably 'look' bigger than they are.

for example, I believe these are 18s:

but they don't look big at all, because of the lip and the small-ish spokes. then you have my 17s which look a lot bigger than I'd like them to.

Honestly you really don't want 18" rims on your Protege anyway, it's just too much. I had my brother's OZ Superleggeras when I first bought the car and it was 5 times slower than it already is .. which is really horrible cuz it's slow enough as it is, my gas mileage got split in half and I was filling up every other day, and the spedometer was WAY off so I never really knew how fast I was going either. 18's are just not meant to be on the Protege..

Here's a ridiculous pic to show ya what it looked like too. Man my car's been through a lot of changes ..

I agree with the consensus. I had 18s before and the gas wasting is tremendous. Unless of course you like driving slow, then they would be alright. Just be sure to get the right offset. I personally prefer a little more speed so Id go with lightweight 16s or a nice 17 inch wheel. You car would have to work twice as hard with 18s as it would with 16s and or 17s.

The price isn't even that bad. I could get some advan kreuzer Vs.. for like a hundred more per wheel.. 17x7 ~14.something pounds (not even forged)

I like the CP-035 because they look nice and they're light
