Welcome aboard matey!! I'm glad you're enjoying your stay here. I believe this thread will be very helpful, and should hopefully have the answers you're looking for. Good luck, and remember to post pics when you get done.

Welcome to the forum! Allow me to opine?

Proteges look best with about a 1" drop and 17" rims. I'd get 17x7s, as light as finances will allow, with an offset of 45-50mm and run 205/45s.

If you want (or need) to stay at the stock height, I'd get 16x7s, same width and offset, and run 205/50s.

These wheel and tire sizes are commonly available and will increase the track of your Protege by about 1.5", resulting in better cornering and stability. There may, however, be slightly increased wear on your wheel bearings.

Bolt pattern is 5x114.3, btw.
