P5 strut bar on 02 ES?

Anyone know if that will fit without too much modification? I'm getting a new strut bar in a couple of days, and I work with a guy that owns a bone stock 2002 Protege ES, so I'm thinking of selling him my stock one. Anyone know if it will fit, and if so does he need any additional brackets or parts?

It'll fit, but you'll have to include the brackets for the power steering and a couple other little things. The P/S is the one that's gonna be iffy, though.

I wish I would have save that stuff when I put on my 3-point STB...I coulda helped you out.

EDIT: I'm not 100% sure though. I know I had to move that stuff outta the way to install my new STB, and I know that plenty of people have asked why it's so damn hard to install a P5 one in a sedan, and I've seen a lot of people looking for those brackets.

[/no help whatsoever]

The ES is a P5 with a trunk. I'm not sure what eggy is talking about as regards the PS bracket, I didn't touch mine or my gf's ('99 ES) when installing our strut bars. The only trouble that might arise is if you didn't have the cruise control relocation bracket and he has cruise. Otherwise it will bolt right in.

Looks good krayzie

What model optima battery is that? Guy at the parts store tried to convince me that they didn't make one we could use. I need to replace my battery asap and would like to get an optima.

I have no idea man, but someone else did ask me that. I'll find out sometime this weekend and let you know. I'm sure he was just talking about fitment, cuz it doesn't fit with the stock battery tiedown. As you can see, I custom rigged mine by bending a piece of metal and utilitzing the strut bar bracket. Works for me ..
