Exclamation My Brand New/Used Mazdaspeed Protege

Hello. Last year I bought a 2003 Protege 5. I loved that car. Not as quick as I would like it to be but never the less a fun car to drive. Well after driving that for a year, I happend to come across an 03 Mazdaspeed Protege with about the same mileage that my MP5 had and had to get it. Alright enough back story.

Aside from the carbon fiber hood its completely stock 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege.
My question is how far can I push the motor before I have to start replacing everything with forged internals? How much boost can I run before having problems? If I get a boost controller how far can I safely push it? Should I replace the intercooler? How big and efficent does it have to be for the T25 turbo? What are the dangers of running a CAI in the fender well? (you know the nice little hole they gave you on the driver side) Should I get a CatBack exhaust and down pipe?

So basically my question is, What can I do to get it to about 200 whp without completely rebuilding it?

Any direction would be appreciated.
Laterz

welcome!

i'm not really an expert, but everyone says 10 psi max with stock internals. to do that you will need a really good tune. i would get a front mount because the stock location for the intercoolers arnt that great. the only danger with the intake is really hydrolocking the engine and that won't happen unless you drive through foot of water. an exhaust is a great, i'd go with the Vibrant ( http://mazda3online.web.aplus.net/pr...roducts_id=399 ) protegegarage.com is a great place to buy stuff for our cars. kens always willing to help out
