Auto Trans swap

I'm kinda Slaping myself in the face atm because I picked an auto vs a manual... but now that I have no choice.. just wondering how much you guys think it would cost to get a shop to switch out the auto transmission in my ES for a manual one, cuz I'm pretty sure it's not something you can just do in your back-yard.

I was thinking in the ballpark range of $1100..+/- $200

sound about right?

I would think you'd be better off selling this car and buying one with a manual trans. The cost will far exceed what you think it will if you have a shop perform the swap. If you have a sentimental attachment to the car it might you might think it's worth it, but if not, sell, sell, sell. They're worth more if they have an auto trans anyway.

^ yep. That kinda' money is better spent on a LOW psi turbo set up for the $/performance ratio. Then drive it gently. You will still be better off.

A manual is GREAT, but it isn't worth all that work/$ IMHO.

Find yourself a wife and give her the auto. Then go and buy yourself a manual.

Lol. I've always tried to stick with a M/T. My wife won't go near it.
It's all mine. (and the only thing that is mine).
