Sqirrels in engine - Need Removal. HELP!!

Gents, Ladies,

I may have little rodents in my engine. Let me start this way: I park my car in a covered garage in front of my building, I keep finding peanut shells and different little things that look they have been brought in by squirels. Even in my engine where there is space I found shells of stuff, and an apple core. Now the little bastards chewed to crap the heat sheild material that is attached to the underside of the hood, looks like grey fiberglass, seems like one of those squirells decided to chew the hell out of it near the anti-freeze reserve tank., I know there is nothing there to cause that damage ( I had strands of the material hanging loose and managed to tuck it in). If they bite through the wiring im screwed.

NOW my question is HOW do I get them to STOP using my car as a resturant?? I don't care IF I have to kill them, and moving a few spaces down, won't solve it.

Placing a bowl of anti-freeze under the car so they drink it and persih???? Or peanuts in the anti-freeze?? Placing some sort of poison food in the engine overnight? I know its 1 or 2 of them only doing it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of them?? Please help, thank you.

P.S. They sue d my car in the wonter too since I had a block heater, I live in Ontario Canada.

I think, pretty sure its a squirrel since Ive seen 1 sitting on my ar hood once, and several times one under the car sitting there eating, sometimes its a black one. Thinking now rat poison.

Squirrel ... rat ... what's the difference? They're both rodents right? Same tactics apply!

They might drink it because it's sweet tasting. But I don't know if you want to use poision. It might die in some inacessible spot in the dash, and then you'd have a tough time getting rid of the smell. Set a couple of traps and bait them with peanut butter. That's how I got rid of the mice in my wife's car.

Exclamation

firts of all...
hahahahahaha

second...
Greeting my Canadian friend

the reason why rat poison is illegal, its because it affect other species in the food chain. (neihbor's cat + dying squirrel = not so pretty new decoration at neighbor's living room) im sure you get the picture.
So chemical war its pretty much off unless you can find a squirrel repellent at your local Canadian Tire (look in the canned wolf pee section)....
but... you can use less sofisticated means...
The best kind its the sticky paper, lure them with peanut butter (extra chunky its the best one (mmm peanut butteeeerrrrr) ) once you trap the little sucker you have 2 choices A) slow death by starvation (not cool) just those the fu**er in the dump or b) severe trauma to the head, its not pretty but its them or you..r car

Another pointer... if the sticky paper stops catching critters and you still have roddent troubles, you might need to switch traps and bait these lettle f**kers learn very quick...

best of luck, happy hunting

Foot Note: unfortunately you live in a very beautiful area full with trees and life, the key word here its "full" so... its a constant battle.

check http://www.critter-repellent.com/ the canned wolf pee its for real...

i dont recommend antifreeze because any neighborhood pet (or your own) could drink it. if you are any kind of pet owner or animal person, you know not to leave antifreeze around. powdered fox urine works too--yes like canned wolf pee, it exists. no poisons or chemicals to potentially kill your friend's dog.
