coilovers or springs?

Im a newby at this so i have no pic of my mp5 but i bought a set of matrix adjustable coilovers and a set of evotion(toucan) lowering springs. does anybody know which is better? ive heard bad things about the sleeve type coilovers and i dont want to ruin my stock struts just yet.I figure if i dont lower the coilovers but maybe 1.5" it wont be so bad.I appreciate any input.

If you don't have the money to upgrade your struts as well, don't put on the coilovers. They will wear your struts much faster if you stay stock.
