Post 2004 mazda protege3 ecu into a FS

my buddy just wreck his 2004 mazda protege 3. i was thinking on taking his ecu and putting it in my mazda protege es 2.0L fs. will it mess up anything if i do this swap? and also what kind of gains im looking at?

it wont work. they are 2 different engines all-together.

in 2004 there is only the Mazda3....not protege3. Proteges stopped exsisting in 2003.

an mp3 ecu will swap into a manual tranny protege 99-03 but will require 89+ octane and will not yield much power. I'd only do it if you can get the ecu for less than $50.

I think with several supporting mods the mp3 ecu will be a decent gain but never more than 10whp no matter what else you add to it.
