Never Again...

Never again will I buy one of these, the thing used to sound good, but over time, i swear something has burnt out in it or something..

It seems like its putting more back pressure on the car than it should....
Im going to try to get a new muffler put on a.s.a.p. I really miss the sound of my old muffler considered to be a "fart can" it sounded nothing of the sort...it had a good deep pitch, not an annoying one, i may get another one..

this picture is really old, but you get the idea...never again..

That's the cherry bomb turbo? How has it changed? Louder?

I went through about one aluminized steel turbo muffler a year on my old '90 civic. They would invariably rust out in the spring time after the thaw. (I lived up north then) The outlet would always rust through and the tailpipe would start to sag, then eventually fall off. It would get progressively louder during this process. I used several different brands. What I spent over four years of ownership, I could have gotten a nice stainless catback.

It sounds like something is burnt out or like you said rusted in it, escpecially when it rains it makes more steam than my Canister muffler did, i would almost discribe the sound as "Burnt out" like something is gone , i dunno, im working on getting a diff exhuast...

I dont care if i have to clamp it, i want this thing gone!!

they usually glass pack them to help absorb sound...perhaps it has in fact "blown out"

If you go with a glass pack. Try to find one made by Blue Streak. Thats what i used on my jeep. It was a little more expensive but weighed nearly twice as much. More glass longer till it blows out.

also, genrealy speaking, the longer your muffler, the lower the tone you'll get out of it.
