Adios Amigos

...hey folks. This could be my last post to the Protegeclub forum. You see, I will be picking up my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire this evening, and saying goodbye to the good ol' Protege. With 215hp and a six-speed manual, I think it is going to be a great way to begin married life this summer. I ended up getting my black coupe (brand new) in the low to mid-twenties, including all tax, lic, etc. That's a great deal. It doesn't hurt that I LOVE the car, either.

Perhaps I will talk with some of you again in the future, as our automotive enthusiasms bridge different brands and different tastes as the years go by. I will be "juddz" on whatever Chrysler (Mercedes?!) forum I end up joining.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for your friendship, advice, and enthusiasm over the past year. I wish you all the best.

juddz, you suck, man.
j/k--I hope you enjoy the car, but hey, have fun on the Chrysler forums, where you can read posts from old geezers (unlike me, of course) who brag about how well their bitchin' new 300 handles.
And how good the Thompson Twins sound on the stock stereo!

oh crap Gary....Thompson Twins?!?! You're the kinda guy who thought "Nelson" was too hardcore and extreme! hahahah

Darren is just mad because we wouldn't let him sit at the cool table without a little hazing. He took his ball and left (metaphorically)

Hey Juddz, be cool and take care. That is a really fine car in my book. I'm lustin over the SRT-6. 330 hp or something like that RWD. Just screams to be run hard. Stop in and tell us what you think about it.

Yay... a Crossife................. joy...

This also might be a wierd though, but just because you don't own a mazda anymore doesn't mean you're instantly banished from the community.

Thanks for the support, guys.

Here she is. It's a great drive, tops out at 151mph (according to Car and Driver), and has Mercedes silkiness throughout. A few observations in 200 miles of driving:
1) No cupholder (not a big deal to me, but the fiance hates the omission)
2) Turns on a dime (as any car with a 94 inch wheelbase should)
3) Comes with a "tire repair kit" (no spare; it eats too much space)
4) Requires premium fuel and Mobil 1 full synthetic oil
5) People stare at you when you drive by

Matty, hurry up and buy a SRT-4, so I can talk Mopars with you on some other forum. C'mon, man. I've heard you gush over that little hot rod, and having driven them, I can attest to how darned fast and fun they are.

I don't "gush" over them....I just respect their speed and how dodge did everything right with them. Mazda should take some lessons.

great looking car. Wanna race the Crossfire against the RX8?
