Well the last few days we've had some major icestorms up here in the norhland. Today I was scraping the 1inch of ice off the pro and discovered that the rear window defroster only covers the lower 2/3 of the window. Kinda annoying. I suppose that the defroster shoudl warm most of the window up but that just takes longer. After abotu 15 minutes of scraping and swearing about the frickin ice, I was on my way. Driving in the sun I noticed that the windshield doesn't have the blue tint on the top that most cars have. It makes a big difference when the sun is higher up. I hate costsaving measures. I guess I'll have to find some kind of tint for that as if I forget my sunglasses the sun kinda blinds me badly.

 

beautiful little ice storm, wasn't it? i just decided to camp in and let the sun thaw my car out today... only my second winter up here... when does spring finally arrive!?!

btw, i have noticed that about the rear defroster. even though it doesn't cover the whole surface area, it does eventually heat the glass adequately to melt ice off the whole thing, at least it does on my ES.

on the second note.... i'm lucky. a kind rock from the underside of a construction truck facilitated me getting a replacement windshield which, low and behold, has tint across the top. thank you, state farm and $0 deductibles.
