Hi From Uk

Hi

Just found your excellent site, we don't seem to have anything like this in Britain for Proteges or 323F's as they're called here.

There are some really chilled motors on here - respect to you all.

I've had my 2000 323F GT, 7 months now and am well pleased. This particular model seems to be quite rare in England as it was originally an import from Eire. It has the 1.8i engine, spoilers and alloys as standard and a nice hard ride, ideal for our country roads.

Its 2.15am here, but I will post some pics as soon as I get a decent day to take them.

All the best

Sikki

I sincerely doubt you're going to get many posts in this section unless you can get a lot of Protege owners over there to get into it. I hope you do, though. Either way, I wanted to thank you guys in general for your support of the U.S. when we have so many in the world trying to thwart our efforts. It's bad enough we have so many in our own country doing that too so your help is GREATLY appreciated. I am not going to post any more on this issue so the moderator doesn't get upset. As you guys say, Cheers. Jorge

Your probably right, the Protege (323F) is not that common over here, for some unknown reason it has been totally overlooked by British car buyers. God knows why, excellent price, good looks and full of standard features, such as air con and a sunroof (rare these days to get that combination over here). Mind you nice to drive something a bit rare. I just thought it would be a good starting place for me to introduce myself and get some info from you guys. I have yet to see a Brit Protege modded, so its great to see your photos. As soon as the sun comes out here, I'll be taken some of my own to upload. Regarding your other point I think you can rely on our country's continued support for quite a while yet, the silent majority of people will be voting Tony Blair back in at the next Election.

Hi Sicknote

Just to let you know I am a UK resident Protege 5 modifier. I would like to give my upmost appreciation to the US protege drivers for providing all there knowledge on the P5. I have had my car from new for over 3 years now and 36000 miles I have done a few subtle mods that have included a rear silencer from Mazdaformance US, a powerflow stainless cat back from the UK and also a stainless mesh intake from powerflow uk. If you need anymore info on where I found my stuff just ask!

Im constantly thinking what I should do next and I have toyed with the idea of a Begi turbo for months but I am just not sure wheather I will have trust in the cars reliability afterwards.

Thanks again to members and suppliers state side.

(I agree sicknote its great to have a rare car)

P.s technical question,

I know there are threads on this but whilst Im in here -
The Stainless Mesh intake I have fitted sits under the bonnet where the original filter box was, I constantly worry about water/heavy rain getting in there.
I am slightly paranoid and check the dipstick and filler cap for white spots just to ensure that none has, do I need to worry bearing in mind this is the UK?

Cheers...

Apple, I think you'd get a lot more response if you went into a general chat or off topic thread and introduced yourself and your car. Pictures are always wanted and full details. Be sure to be descriptive as possible as many of us do not ever get to see these vehicles.

Welcome aboard!
