Federal Tires

Anyone have Federal's on their car? What do you think of them? Might put a pair on my ES sedan.

I just can't stand buying cheap tires but I'm always broke so I'm forced to compromise. It's tough deciding sometimes.

My last set of Futura's gripped better than the Kuhmo's and Yoko hama's (especially in the rain)I had used before, and they were cheaper and lasted longer, plus I got a deal on a set of 195-60-14's(wider than stock) sport touring tires that had a V speed rating..Mounted and balanced and out the door for $240...but whatever...

Nankangs were on my P5 when I bought it, so I have nothing to compare with, but it rides like it's on rails on the curves.
Anyone have a comment on Nankang? I'm bracing for derogatory comments now, but that's just how things are going today.

well, like i've said befo'....it's toyos or nuttin' fer me!

however, i'm running low on $$ and i just got some 18s (man do they look purty) and since they are for show only, i'm thinking the cheapest tires are going to be the best ones!

Lots of recommendations for the Kumho's, so I think I'll go with them. No one around here seems to have the 712's in stock though ... but they do have the 711's in. I assume it's also a very good tire?

Thanks

711 Kumho's are a very nice tire. A little different tread design than the 712 and the 711 is H (130 mph) speed rated versus the 712 which is W(169 mph) V(150 mph) or Z (150 + mph) . I run a 205/50/15 Kumho 711 on my stock rims for the winter and they do very well.

Kumho 711 life expectancy

so how many miles (or km's) can I expect to get out of the Kumho 711's? I don't drive aggressively.
how is their life expectancy compared to other tires in their class? i.e. compared to the stock dunlop's?I have just 22K km's on my Dunlop's and the tread looks excellent.

If you keep the tires rotated every 6000 miles and keep up on your air pressure, you should get atleast 40,000 miles out of the 711's. When you replace the tires make sure you have a 4 wheel alignment done. This will ensure you get the maximum life out of the tires.
