No they are not. Pretty sure the VJ-23 can only be found over seas.

the t-bird coups had a T3, non ball bearing unlike the VJ23 which is a ball bearing turbo.

actually the T-bird turbocoupes came with two diffeent turbo's. The mtx cars received the Garret T3 and the atx cars got the smaller, less-powerful IHI turbo.

The Garret T3 turbo is the way to go when looking for good reliable boost. I just upgraded my turbocoupe motor with a T3/T4 and a little over 26psi. Ever see a four cylinder pinto stand up on it's rear wheels?

yes the IHI RHB5 VJ-23 is found on the T-Bird ATX like Rod said...If you look on Probe or MX-6 boards it is a popular swap to use the compressor wheel and housing from a T-bird the VJ-11 that comes on the FT2...it is a bargain price for a turbo upgrade....On a related note i just saw an 88 T-bird turbocoupe with a solid body runs and drives good for $700 down the street from me...sound like a good price Rod??

wow, yeah....I bought mine for $300 but the turbo was blown....litteraly. If you want to make it a play car you can do so very cheaply. Biggest problem on the t-bird is weight. Offer him $500 for the whole....$600 if he helps you gut it!!
