How do you do yours?

I am getting ready to do my first oil change on my P5. I usally use my ramps to do oil changes, but I tried the ramps on my P5 last weekend, but the P5 is to low. The front bumper hits the ramp.

What is the best way to get under the car to change the oil? I was thinking about buying a floor jack, and using (2) stands in the front. I would rather not get a floor jack. Anyone know of some ramps that will work on a P5?

Any suggestions? I need to do my oil soon...

I suggest placing an ~18" long piece of 2x4 lumber in front of each ramp. If this doesn't work, try "stairstepping" the lumber with progressively shorter pieces placed on top of one another.

Good luck!

usually they sell these plastic 'extender' things that you can add to the ramps, gives you about another inch of clearance before hitting the ramp and gives it a bit more safety (traction if your tires happen to be wet). go to wal-mart or k-mart, they should sell them. my boy who had this crx dropped 3" or more (the previous owner cut the springs) didnt have a problem on my ramps with the extenders. i had the same problem with my car when i put the H&R's on it, the bumper would hit. i just tossed them on, and the car went up fine. try that :]

Pick up a pair of Rhino Ramps. When I got my Rhino's I threw out my old ramps and the extensions. Far safer than lumber or those extensions.
