'03 ES My car won't start

So after not driving my protege for a week the engine will not start. It would'nt even crank. I'm suspecting the battery is the cause. Is it normal for the battery to run out of juice in only one week? Considering this is fairly a new which only have 12000 miles.
Thanks

Depends on the strength (charge level and condition) of the battery just before you parked it for a week, but it is common. If you've been only driving short distances with a heavy electrical load on, then it's likely the battery was in a low charge state. Or, you could just have a battery that's gone to crap early.

Keep an eye on it, and if you continue to experience difficult starts or it dies again, have it checked out at the dealership. They may just have to replace it under warranty for you.
