Is there any real difference between the local tire shop installing wheels and tires and buying wheels and tires online and jacking up the car yourself? Are there any special issues I should be aware of if I buy a set of wheels and tires already mounted online and put them on myself? It doesn't seem like it would be anything more than getting a torque wrench and making sure the lugs are properly set. Any advice would be great!

 

Easier to return the stuff if you're unhappy ( read - no S/H holdback ). Easier to go after them legally if you're REALLY unhappy, especially if they are in another jurisdiction ( e.g. shipping to Canada from US ).
