What would be cool is if we had a software that allowed you to type in a users name and be able to contact that person and then trade files with them.

I know that a lot of us Protege guys download and watch movies and so forth and it would be cool if we could all share with each other. I know I would not mind sharing some of my movies or pictures and so forth with other Protege Gods.

i don't know if anyone knows of any such program or softwares. I for one would love to get my hands on it ...

I have about 20 movies (older) and 50 dreamcast games(even older) as well as 2000 songs on my harddrive. I think a fileshare would be great. Alot easier to swap pics hey Bruce.

I have 120 gig hard drive t hat stuff gets loaded on everyday , such as music, movies , inital D .. 700 mb divx and mpeg movies
like bad boys , mib1 and 2 .. and so forth

I really didn't mean to share on protegeclub, but have like some type of sharing that we can participate in but swap our files. I don't think icq will let you download a 600 mb file

Does anyone know anything about CuteFTP or any other FTP software programs? Lets start start sharin sum ****.

yeah - what protege menace said .. aim is what we primarirly use . it is fast , but I would like to be hable to send files faster.
I usually download a 700 mb movie on imesh in like 3 hours .. sometimes 4 and sometime more or less..

I don't think cute ftp is used for file sharing ..
file transfer protocal .. isn't it more like for uploading to servers and so forth ..

People can't connect to me through AIM, so that's out of the question. I'll see if I can set up a FTP server on my old computer. I have about 30G storage on there, that would be good enough for my music, and rotate some movies (I have a 256 cd binder almost full with movies)

When I set it up, I'll post in here. You can then PM me for a username and password. Upload is going to be slow, it's on cable but my upload speed sucks.

 

funny , people can connect to me on aim , I just set my port to 7000 or something like that, I will look when I go home , because I have a firewall, and the d-link so it's hard for some programs to get through

 

just set up ftp servers thats the best way to do it

There's alot of freeware FTP servers out there... (tucows, etc...) As long as you have a static IP addy... If not you can still subscribe to one of the dynamic IP mapping services for a dynamic domain name....

 

I have a dynamic .. so which program would be cool ...

do we have to leave our pc's on all the time .. I know if we set a certain day ,, to leave our pc on overnight I could do that ...
