door locks question

Just out of curiosity is there a way to make the doors lock at some kind of time interval or speed? ie. 3 mph the doors lock. Also, does anyone know of a computer that you can buy to put in the car that tells you like how many miles to empty, average speed, avg mpg, and stuff like that?

TIA

To answer your first question, if you install an aftermarket alarm, they wire a relay to make your doors lock with a certain action. On my alarm, when I depress the brake pedal (after entering the car), the doors will lock. When I'm done driving and I turn off the ignition, the doors will unlock.

I don't know about the rest, but I'm sure it's been done.

Man, really, I didn't know that there are alarms that
are out there that do that
that would be kinda cool

on the question regarding the info about gas mileage
I believe you are referring something similar like the ones
that come in the chrysler vehiecles, correct?

I am pretty sure there are equipments out there that you connect to the engine/computer of the car that can display those on a digital screen that can be custom installed at the place of choice.

I have seen it done in a S2000 once, but never on a protege
but at least, you know it works
