Black specs and other contaminants on paint

Is it possible to get all of this off of your car? I am in the process of doing the 3 step system, and its very hard to get these little black specs off of my car. Some of them come off with my fingernail, but its a PITA.

Do these normally come of with the cleaner, or am I doing something wrong?

Use a claybar from Meguires or Mothers. Read the instructions carefully. Works wonders!

Mothers sells a very good clay bar system at Wal Mart for ~$10. Worth every penny. Do your entire car. After just a clay bar job, your paint will feel so smoooooth.

Thanks for the suggestion, i guess im going to buy a clay bar!

Are they reusable? Will i make chips or scatches bigger if I go over them?

See this thread for pics of my scratches

No, it shouldn't. It's only made to take away the contaminants in your paint. It's reusable, I've done my car 3 times w/ the same clay bar. Just don't drop it on the ground then go using it on your paint after that.
