My parents and neighbors have lots of woods around their properties. One of my neighbors, for instance, has a large pond (really nice), and about 10 miles of paths through the woods adjacent to his house (it's a large area). It's really nice down there, I used to go walk down there all the time when I lived there.

i'm sorry but that fire is tiny. just wait until the 4th of july. every year we have a massive fire at my friends house. it's only the 21st of may, and we're scrambling now to get enough wood. so far the pile is about 15ft high. we're planning on getting 200-300 wood pallets, just for one nite. once the 4th rolls around, i'll post some pics of just the pile, and when it's all burning.

Used to have some woods next door but they chopped them down for development (bastards haven't even put a building there yet and the trees have been gone for 2 1/2 years).

Maybe just part of the "Healthy Forests Initiative".
You don't have to worry about brush fires now, do you?

It is a big patch of dirt with grass slowly growing in. They even managed to build a nice sinkhole into it so we can have constant mosquitoe infestations. There is no for-sale sign on the property or anything, otherwise I would call that guy and give him a piece of my mind.

I now live in the middle of Suburbia Hell (until my lease is up), but we used to have HUGE bonfires back in college, in Superior, WI. We'd go out to Wisc. Point and pile up a bunch of driftwood. It was illegal, but we never got caught.

In fact, once we went down there and found a bunch of HS kids who already had a decent fire going. My friend Ed scared them off (6'6", 300lbs, all muscle, and a Ford ex-highway patrol car w/spotlight). Not only did they get the fire going for us, but they ran off without their beer! It was great!

LOL picking on Highschool kids!!. I must admit i live in the city with only maybe an acre of woods down the street . But this reminds me of a new account my company just got (landscaping) with 376 acres. The guy bought some land and he didn't want any more houses going up around him so he bought every piece of land he could get. hopefully we can go hunting there
