Yikes that's low. Did you cut it down, or are the all that way. I have the B&M and it's comfortable right where it's at, but it's gotta be an inch taller than that.

That's the standard Kartboy lever, not cut.

good to see you did get some pics nate!

at first i thought my kartboy shifter might be too low, but after driving it for a couple of weeks it almost feels to high again. its the same with my subs, after listening to them for a bit they are just too quiet again....oh well
the way that i can FLY through the gears is awesome. getting on the freeway is so much more fun now

humm..i think i got an answer already from Tom at Kartboy:

Ken
what we usually do is just give the metal plate a tug. I tried the spacers
but that made my exhaust hit the heatshield.
the shield just needs to move down about 1/4 to 3/8"
not much at all

some of the other shifters need the spacing to be a lot more. Just like
some of the other subaru shifters that are on the market.

the B&M sits the closest to the same height to the stock shifter. the kartboy drops down alot. but if you like me and don't have any $$$, you make your own short shifter.

looks really good. Pretty quick short throw shifting? easy installation?

It did more for the height than it did for the throw, but both feel about right now. Not extremely short throws, but improved from stock.
Installation in less than an hour. Probably 1/2 hour if you're just doing the lever. I wouldn't try it without wheel ramps or jack & stands. Basic hand tools (helps to have 2 sets of socket wrenches or 1 plus wrench set) plus snap ring pliers and some silicone lubricant for the lever pivot ball.

Yeah, that does look low. I had even less funds so I couldn't get the B&M, I did however find the RVM on ebay for really cheap. It has the same exact specs as the B&M and it's made of the same metal. So I figured what the heck. It sits just as high as the B&M so there's no problem there. I like how low the Kartboy one sits though. You should see how low the M Roadster's shifter is, basically it's just a ****, and the throw is more like a flick!

Actually, many of the ones I've seen (car shows and magazines) sit surprisingly high. Plus they're gated!
