Why is that...?
Why people paint their car's hood black?
I've seen many on the road and on videos as well.
Is it to keep the heat inside the engine bay?
Anyway, this is kinda a stupich question but i havn't founded the answer yet.

i read somewhere that they used to do that so the glare can be cut down. it was usually painted a black matte color. this makes sense, but like in my p5, i can't even really see the hood unless i sit really tall and lean forward. i can see it on the 60's muscle cars cause their hoods go on forever. i just sat in my friend's '67 le mans and that thing's hood is crazy long. but it sure is fast! damn thing pulls 14's on the 1/4. i forgot what he was running under the hood. i think it's a 354, but not sure. i'll ask again when i see him today. wait, nevermind. too much of a tangent. yeah, they painted their hoods to cut down on glare back then. now they do it to have it look like a cf hood... or cause they think it will add some power.

Hmmm.....Cuuudaaa
