Mazda MX Sportif - AKA P5 replacement

I am not sure whether this car is going to be the same size as Matrix, Vibe, PT Cruiser size, but if it is not, its going to be one hot new car. Over all the car looks nice, inside and out. Here are the pics:

It's nice for a cross-over type car, probably the nicest looking one I can think of.... But it IS very matrix/vibeish.... The gauge pods (not necesarrily the gauges themselves), for instance look identical.

I'm just kind of disapointed if this is supposed to be a P5 replacement... Building "up" is not better in my opinion... it would look so nice if it was low and sleek like the p5...

I guess it is starting to look better to me, the first picture I saw was a few days ago and the angle made me say no. Now with the different angles I like it better but it still seems a little overweight. I guess it does just reming me a lot of the matrix, pt cruiser, aerio, etc.......

Oh well, just like every car I will end up wanting one in six months when it grows on me.

Oh, and what is with the dual exhaust, V6 or just for show?

designers of that car should have to sit in the corner

It's got a bit of everything from RSX to Vibe/Matrix to Sentra ...
At least you can't say they aren't paying attention to current "trends" in the marketplace. blah

No, this is not the 6 this is the 3.
It's similar in ways to the 6, but it's the new 3 not 6. How could you confuse the two? The six wagon is so much longer than the 3.

Wow! That's the first pic I've seen of the interior, and I think it looks great. I do see that it's getting taller... which is a

I drove the Vibe a few months back, and it was way too tall. Almost a mini-van driving position. This car looks to have a much more relaxed driving position. Way more upscale interior. The Vibe's interior looks ok in pictures, and absolute **** in person. Although the Celica GTS engine with VVTL-i and 8k redline was kind of entertaining.

They need to just release the damn thing so I can go drive it. Wonder if it will be under $20k

i'm glad i got my p5 when i did. that thing looks pretty bad overall, i think. the interior is nice minus the guages. the exterior is... ummm... interesting. i like the view from the front, but from the rear doors back, i think it looks like butt. the rear of the car is ok, although i don't think the 4 cylinders give enough output to warrant a dual exhaust, but, sure, why not, it's already messed up. i'm not sure why they angled the rear quarter glass forwards, but i think it would have looked so much better if it followed the lines of the car. also, what kind of blind spot will you have with a giant pillar back there like that? i don't know. this car is giving me mixed feelings. i sorta like it, but at the same time, it's pretty gross if it's the p5's successor. we went from hatchback wagon to bloated crossover vehicle a la vibe/matrix/aerio/pt cruiser/nissan murano. oh well.

Well, for me i think it good to have a taller vechile, cause im 6.1'' and there are not alot of econocars that i can fit in that gives me enough head room to make me comfortable, and i think it is really nice style, but that's my opinion, like when the matrix / vibe came out, you either like or don't.

I am also 6'1". The Protege has more than enough head room for me. Lots more head room than my mother's TL. I'm always hitting my head on the ceiling of her car. Personally I feel more comfortable when a car has just enough head room that I'll never hit my head but not tons of extra room.
